My journey into learning support began over 20 years ago, driven by a passion for helping children with dyslexia, neurodivergence, and anxiety-related learning challenges reach their full potential. Since qualifying as a licensed Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) facilitator in 2019, I have integrated the strong connection between emotional wellbeing and learning into all aspects of my work.
I hold a Bachelor of Education (UNISA) and a PGCE in Learner Support (University of Johannesburg), and I have trained in Integrated Learning Therapy and specialised dyslexia and reading development approaches. Over the years, I have worked in both private and independent school settings, as well as with families through personalised one-on-one and small group support.
My approach is shaped not only by professional training, but also by lived experience. As a mother of two boys—and a parent navigating dyslexia and neurodivergence in my own home—I deeply understand the daily realities families face: anxiety around school, reading struggles, emotional overwhelm, and the need for calm, practical support that actually fits into family life.
This is why I place strong emphasis on working with both the child and the parents. When parents feel supported and informed, children are able to regulate, learn, and grow with far greater confidence.
Now based in Cape Town, I work with children using a gentle, practical, and flexible approach that integrates TRE with dyslexia and learning support strategies. My focus is on reducing anxiety, strengthening emotional regulation, and building foundational skills like reading and phonics in a way that feels achievable rather than overwhelming.
With over two decades of experience, my work is centred on helping children feel safe, capable, and understood—so that learning becomes something they can engage with, not fear.
