It was a great privilege on Wednesday 18 March 2015 to travel to Empangeni, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa to teach TRE to 60 firefighters, policemen & women, life savers & other emergency responders.

We began our journey with MyLife in October 2010.  We had been trained as level 1 TRE® practitioners, and were required to work with a group for our final group case study in order to become TRE® group practitioners.

‘Woza Moya’ offers care and practical help to the community that lives in the beautiful rolling hills and valleys of the Ufafa Valley region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa – up in the mist belt near the village of Ixopo.

A group of Somerset West TRE Providers (Dr Melanie Salmon, Beverley Streng, Tim Knight, Donovan Brown and others) worked together during November/ December 2015 to offer a pro bono 6 week group course to a small group of Helderberg Rape Crisis volunteers. This initiative came about after discussion with the centre management and the realisation that, due to the nature of the work that they are involved with, the volunteers themselves could benefit from such a course.
